Hello,
Well, it's already August and I can't believe we're only about five months away from the release of my ninth novel, LOVE AND LIES...the 4th installment in the Reverend Curtis Black series! It was not my intent to write another "Curtis" story but because of all the requests I received from readers by e-mail and in person while out on the road, I decided I would pen at least one or two more. The publication date is January 30, 2007. I've also included the first chapter as an attachment to this newsletter and would love to hear your comments.
Next, I want to thank all of you for picking up your copy of CHANGING FACES as soon as it went on sale because this is the sole reason it made the New York Times Bestsellers list. I am so grateful for the way you continue supporting me, one book after another, and my prayer is that I can continue to give you the type of stories you can enjoy.
Additionally, I am excited to announce that of all the novels I've read in 2006, the # 1 page-turner is the latest story from a fellow author and my close friend, Victoria Christopher Murray. The title is A SIN AND A SHAME and if you haven't already, I encourage each of you to pick up your copy today. I absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to see what Ms. Jasmine does in the sequel, which I'm hoping Victoria will write in the very near future.
The other news I wanted to share is in regard to the Literary Award Show being held in New York City on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. This award show proudly celebrates African-American authors in every genre, and I am honored to have been nominated in two categories: Contemporary Fiction and Author of the Year - Female. There are so many wonderful authors that have been nominated, so if you would, please click on the link below and cast your votes before the September 11 deadline.
